Eligibility Criteria for OPTCL MT Recruitment 2025

- Nationality: Must be an Indian Citizen.
- Essential Qualification:
- A full-time Degree in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a recognized University/Institution.
- Minimum 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA.
- For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, the minimum requirement is 50% marks.
- Alternatively, passing Section A & B of IE (India) in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate is acceptable.
- The qualification must be obtained by the last date of application submission, i.e., May 2, 2025.
- GATE 2025 Score:
- Candidates must have appeared and qualified in the GATE 2025 examination conducted by IIT, Roorkee.
- A valid GATE 2025 score (Normalized Marks out of 100) in the Electrical Engineering (EE) paper is mandatory. GATE scores from 2024 or prior are not valid.
- Age Limit (as on 01.03.2025):
- Minimum Age: 21 years.
- Maximum Age: 32 years.
- Age Relaxation: Upper age limit relaxation is applicable as per Government of Odisha Guidelines:
- SC/ST/SEBC: 5 years (for reserved posts).
- Women: 5 years (for reserved posts).
- Ex-Serviceman: Maximum 5 years.
- PwBD: 10 years over and above category relaxation. (Cumulative relaxation applicable for PwBD candidates belonging to SC/ST/SEBC categories ).
- Odia Language Proficiency: Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak Odia fluently and should have:
- Passed Middle School Examination with Odia as a language subject, OR
- Passed Matriculation or equivalent with Odia as a medium of examination in a non-language subject, OR
- Passed Odia as a language subject in the final examination of Class VII, OR
- Passed a test in Odia in Middle English School Standard conducted by the School and Mass Education Department/Board of Secondary Education, Odisha.

Salary Structure and Benefits
OPTCL offers an attractive compensation package.
- Training Period (1 Year): Stipend of ₹ 50,000/- per month.
- Post-Training Absorption: Absorbed as Assistant Manager (Electrical).
- Pay Scale: Level EE-2 in the Pay Matrix: ₹ 56,100 – ₹ 1,77,500.
- Initial Basic Pay: ₹ 56,100/-.
- Other Benefits: Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) or company accommodation, Medical Allowance, Conveyance Allowance, Medical Insurance, Group Personal Accident Insurance, LTC, Gratuity, National Pension System (NPS), and various loans & advances as per company rules.

OPTCL Selection Process 2025
The selection process involves two main stages:
- GATE 2025 Score: Candidates will be shortlisted based on their normalized marks (out of 100) obtained in the Electrical Engineering (EE) paper of GATE 2025. This score carries a weightage of 90% in the final selection.
- Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a Personal Interview. The interview carries a weightage of 10%.
- Document Verification: Required documents will be verified, potentially through Digi Locker, before or during the interview process.
- Medical Examination: Final appointment is subject to medical fitness as per OPTCL standards.
The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined weightage of the GATE 2025 score and the Personal Interview.
